I need some advice whether or not to retake my OAT exam. It's very frustrating because I did so poorly on physics, I never got below a 290 on any of my practice exams. I mostly averaged a 310 on them, so I really don't understand why I did so horribly. Plus I didn't do the best in RC either.... I think my nerves got the best of me. But I did do well in the other sciences.

These are the scores I've received.

QR: 330
RC: 290
BIO: 320
CHEM: 390
OCHEM: 360
PHYSICS: 260
TS: 330
AA: 330

I plan to apply to SCCO, PCO, Western, and UCBSO. My overall GPA is around 3.56 and my science GPA is around 3.2-3.3. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I posted this on the OAT discussions thread as well as here, I want to hear everyones input!

It's tricky because you really did do pretty well overall, but that Physics score is really low. From what I've heard sometimes schools will interview you and even conditionally accept you if you agree to retake the OAT and get a better score. There's a chance that some schools might not even care—you never know unless you apply. I recommend contacting admissions departments of the schools you're interested in. There's only so much I can say based on my friends' experiences and things I've read on this forum. Contacting admissions is the best way to get reliable information and it doesn't take much effort.

Hello
In my opinion, Your OAT scores looks great. I don't think you should retake it. They won't give you hard time for only physics score. If you got high gradesfrom two year physics , then do not worry. Your average is important mostly which in your case is great.
I had poor score on physics too , 270 but got admitted to Western.
As you know, they do not only look at gpa and oat scores. other things as far as work experience and extracurricular activitiesactivities are important in your application.
Although, contact the schools you will be applying to get better advice for retaking the OAT.

Good luck
