Hi. I just noticed the people who took the DAT recently did amazing. I got a AA of 21 and almost everything else was a 21 too (nothing was higher than this) and my PAT was a 20. I think I should retake it since everyone else is getting at least a 23, 24 even some high scores like 27. What do you guys think? Is my score competitive enough?
Thanks in advance!

You are definitely above average and should be good to go, as long as your GPA is 3.3+. You have to remember that not every single dental student who applies posts their scores on SDN, let alone is even a member of SDN.

FYI, the average of all DAT takers is 17 and the average DAT of accepted students is 19.5 and it doesn't increase significantly over the years. Your DAT scores are pretty good and if coupling with a good GPA (3.5+), you'll get in somewhere 🙂 Best of luck.
Do you mean 3.5+ gpa for science only or overall? thanks! 🙂

As an example, I remember seeing that the average DAT score at Harvard was 22 with a PAT of 20. In other words, you did wonderfully on the DAT. No retake necessary. Congratulations on your success!

Do not go on here comparing scores. Look at school statistics that doc toothache often posts. Your scores are above average for many schools. The rest of your application is what will determine your fate now.
