I have taken the DAT two times, but on both of them, I ruined the Reading comprehension section.

DAT 1st time: PAT: 19 QR:18 RC:15 Bio:19 Gchem:19 Ochem:22 Ts:20 AA: 19 (2015)

DAT 2nd time: PAT: 20 QR:19 RC:15 Bio:20 Gchem:22 Ochem:23 Ts:21 AA: 20 (2016)

GPA: 3.22

Science GPA: 3.08

Do I have any chance to get an interview? Do I need to retake the DAT exam again?

You should know there are a lot of schools who cut off at a 16 minimum in any section, getting a 15 in RC is below the cut off so you're already limiting the amount of schools you apply to. Looking at your GPA, it's fairly low, so if you have the time and money, I would invest in looking into taking the DAT again, if not, an AA should be fine, just apply to schools that don't have minimum DAT cut offs. I should also note that after taking it the 3rd time (?) you have to send a letter of request to the DAT people to request to take the DAT again.... so don't mess up.

Does that mean a 15 in OC is unacceptable? I ran out of time for it, I messed up

What are the rest of your scores? What is your science GPA? Is this your first time taking the DAT? Why did you run out of time? Did you spend too much time on Bio and GC? Where are you applying?

Some more background information would be helpful, but the combination of low GPA + RC section of 15 would make things very challenging. I would personally consider a post-bac or masters to raise the GPA at this point, but I would also call schools and ask how much of an issue the RC score would be.

I wouldn't say unacceptable, but it would be a major obstacle. How were the rest of your scores and your GPA?

Yes i wpuld retake, mostly because your sci gpa ia only 3.08, which is low. You want at least a 22aa to pair with that gpa to be competitive. Id take a gap year and would take classes to boost sci gpa and retake dat to be more competitive for next cycle.

It is my second time retaking it and I got AA 18, TS 18, PAT 23, 19 BIO, 18 GC, 15 OC, 20 QR, 19 RC, 3.15 oGPA, 2.9 sGPA with 100+ shadowing/volunteer hours. Yes, I did run out of time on OC and was a bit thrown off with a few of the questions I wasn't expecting. I'm conflicted whether I should hold off and do post-bacc and apply next year, but would really like to apply this cycle. Any feedback is helpful, thank you!

The first step would be to find schools that will accept a 2.9sGPA. Once you find the schools ask about your DAT scores, IMO without knowing your complete history I think a retake will be necessary and possibly a post-bacc. Do the research and you will be better able to answers these questions. No one this forum will be able to give you a definitive answer to these questions.

Wishing you the best..and keep us posted on what you find out.

BTW, I am assuming you struggled with Orgo when you took the class. A 15 means you missed around half the questions..You will definitely need to do some review work for Organic Chemistry . To be competitive in 2017 you need to have 20 plus especially in sciences..
