I have read on this forum to make sure that courses match EXACTLY for DO grade replacement.

If I retake a class at a different school with different course numbers but the same subject matter, am I ok?

For instance the art class at my original college was ART201 intro to art appreciation. Would I have a problem If I retake it at a local school and it is classified as ART1000 intro to art appreciation. It is obviously basically the same class but I wouldn't want to retake and not get credit.

Is it best just to do retakes at your original school to avoid confusion? Don't really want to spend the extra $ but I will if I have to.

The courses have to be similar in description, i think you'll be fine for your art class. I retook a class at another institution but the numbers went from 400 to 200 - - doesn't matter because the class description and title are the same.

@Mars41 I posted about this a couple of days ago. Below is the thread.

The title doesn't need to be exactly the same either, as long as the course has a similar description and of course is the same or more hours.

The course in the thread I asked them about was a Management course with a completely different title, but similar course description. As you can see from their response, it should fly.

@FutureDrB that's the info I was looking for. Thank you so much. You have been extremely helpful with several of my posts. It is greatly appreciated.
