Subject line says it all. Got a B for the second semester and an A- in lab. The semester I took orgo I, I ended up taking genetics as well, which is considered one of the hardest courses my university has to offer, because I did not have an advisor that semester (ultimately my fault for not seeking advice earlier on, and I take responsibility for that). However, I do feel like I learned the material and that if I were to approach it again, I would be able to do very well (get an A). I want to prove to myself that I can master such a course at an Ivy League University, but do medical schools give a damn whether or not I repeat it? Would I be wasting my time when I could be taking another course that is fun/useful and an easy A? thanks in advance for the input!

You're fine, one C isn't going to kill your chances. Save your time and money and take another course you'll enjoy and do well in.

Even if you got an A on retaking, they'd get averaged in the AMCAS grade calculation, so little difference to your BCPM in the end. You're better off taking some other challenging high level courses (Biochemistry, Inorganic, etc) and doing well in them to show you're capable. It is dangerous to try and pad yourself with the easy fun courses, adcoms notice when you're full of things like Earth Science or Ecology or Evolution.

Capitalizing Ivy League University but not Medical School
