It's fine; quit worrying about it.Hello to whoever may read this,
I am in a predicament potentially bigger than I thought and I am scared this may become a red flag on my application. I am planning to apply to both MD and DO schools at the end of my senior year.
My issue is that in high school I never took any physics classes, but the college I was accepted to and ended up going to required physics to be taken in high school. To compensate for students who hadn't taken classes such as physics, chemistry, calculus, etc. my school offered a program where students could take the class online through the school over the summer before. I chose this option and took Physics 1 online and got an A-. However, I knew that medical schools generally did not accept online coursework (before the pandemic), so when I got to school in the fall I was enrolled in Physics 1 again. While my online physics class was generally just online homeworks and open book tests with no lecture, my in person physics lecture was much more difficult on top of an 18 credit course load while adjusting to college. Needless to say, I got a C- in the class and it tanked my GPA. I am now in the spring semester of my junior year and I am taking Physics 1 for what is technically the third time because the online course from before freshman year started is technically on my transcript. I am confident I am going to get an A in Physics 1 this time.
I also got a B- in Physics 2 and I am confident I am going to get an A in the modern physics class I am also taking this semester. I currently have a 3.47 cGPA with a strong upwards trend and I am confident I can continue getting A's through my senior year. I also have a 510 on the MCAT (128, 126, 128, 128) Is this a huge red flag or can it be explained? I feel so lost.
One should retake pre-reqs that had a C- or worse grade.
