Hi,
Currently my cGPA is 3.2 but my sGPA is 2.75.
I am in process of studying for MCAT.

I am going to apply this coming fall for fall 2012. Hoping to get in either Touro NY or NYCOM

Now, if I retake couple of classes my sGPA should go over 3.0 mark.
So would you suggest if I take one of those classes this spring (2011) or would it be OK if I take the class in fall (2011)? Would it be too late to update my application w/ a sGPA of 3.0 and get an interview invite if I take the class in fall (2011)?
This class in not a requirement for admission. It's just an upper division bio class that I want to retake to replace of my C- with much better grade.

I would like to take that class in fall b/c I would like as much time as possible for MCATs which I am planning to take ins summer.

If something is unclear or if you need more info on anything plz let me know.
Thank you. You folks are good.

I would definitely want that grade replaced with a better one before you send in your secondary applications. If you take it in the Fall 2011, then you will not get your secondaries in until grades are posted, sent to AACOMAS, and AACOMAS updates the grade. That could be the later part of December 2011. Not too late but way after the recommended time.

I would recommend taking the class earlier and pushing the MCAT to a later date. Retaking the course can only help your MCAT bio section. If you took the MCAT in Sep 2011, you could work on secondaries while waiting for the score and have everything in by early to mid Oct 2011. This would put you in good shape.
Yea, that's good dough.

I just don't won't my sGPA to be below 3.0 when they screen applicants in their system.
