I have to retake organic chemistry. When I retake and get an A, for instance, would my previous grade by replaced or are the 2 grades averaged?
They will see both and it will end up counting as the average of both
How does AADSAS caluclate a repeated course if your school doesn't report the 1st grade?
Say you get a C and you repeat the course and get an A. On your transcript, it says R instead of C, so you report it in AADSAS as R. Will they automatically assume it's an F and therefore average the 0 and 4? Or will they just take the 2nd since they have no way of knowing what your initial grade was?
Even though the repeated course is essentially "wiped out" by the institution you took it at, it STILL shows on the transcript. For example, I suck at math... I failed college algebra freshman year. Big fat F... Then I re-took it, got an A. Its on my transcript as repeated but its not factored into my GPA. However, AADSAS doesn't give a crap they still see it on the transcript and factor it in. Trust me I wish this wasn't the case because my AADSAS GPA is really going to hurt my chances this cycle.
As far as it showing R? I am not sure, mine doesn't show that, it just gives initial grade and says *repeated* next to it. I would call AADSAS and ask. Easy to get a hold of and everyone I have talked to when I had questions has been very helpful.
