hi,
studied for 6 months,took exam in july,got the most difficult paper i cud ever imagine.scored 83...very dissapointed!!!
Retaking in oct/nov.
i m going to revise decks,do qs papers all over again obviously,
but wat else sud i do.
mobsys? dent essentials? nbde first aid? which one is better or sud i do all three or something else.
kaplan is tooooo vast and doing it in limited time is not possible.sud i just go thru it ina week and see the main points ?
can someone plzz tell me what i sud do!
lifes crazy right now...my entire study group got above 85 and i feel like a loser to state it mildly!
any retakers out there.......can someone identify with my situation?
can someone whoz nailed nbde part 1 give me some advice.

I have sam problem like you and i'll retake in sep. so i'm also confuse but i think i'll go to first aid. hey can u u say hows going ur preparation .....

You can study all you want now, but most of the questions just require some general knowledge of basic priniciples and application of those principles. It is not simply remembering facts and spitting them out. Kinda funny how they finally made the format of the exam applicable to real dentistry. The only real memorization questions are dental anatomy. You just have to know every little fact about every tooth.

hi..even im also sailing in the same boat...to study the whole thing again,is really difficult..did kaplan,decks,q papers...dont knw whr was the fault..this want to discuss q with someone....want to wrk harder n retake the exam in nov...need a dedicated study partner...if anyone intrested do contact me at [email protected]

its just SO tough!!!
I''m a retaker too.. I got 85 on july..
im thinking about doing usmle stuff..
i'd like to have someone to discuss things via mail or something...
I don't want to make a plan together...
just want someone to discuss things we don't know.. tricky things.. and encourage each other, and discuss papers.

V r sailing in the same boat.. Its really hard to motivate ourselves to read again. I too scored very low. I want to retake but still not prepared. Just cant prepare myself to study again. Hope v can help each other. I am planning to take in oct/nov.

I am contemplating too..wonder what went wrong..may be did not revise enough..or was it biochemistry..don't know..would like to discuss things..and make my next preparation absolutely fool proof.
Need a partner for this ordeal.

Hi..i am looking for somebody with similar intent.This preparation can not go waste.It has to fetch results which are pre fixed with the number 9!!!!!

i am too sailing in the same boat,,gave my exam in aug but got a low score than expected,,dont know wat went wrong???does anyone know abt re-evaluation n hw effective it is???

even i have the same problem like u ,got a bad score.iwant to reapply.can u please give some information, do we need to send ece report to joint commission again before applying ,or just they already have our application details?

I had the NBDE part one, and I got an 83, I studies the Dental Decks 2007 and some of the First Aid of NBDE, also I studied most of the Q banks and some released and unreleased Qs. What should I do then ?
I would love to join a study group in Boston, MA

same here..focussed on decks,first aid nd sum released nd unreleased papers but got 81....all set 2 retake..ny spl tips to nail d xam wld b appreciated🙂))🙂

I took Part I Oct 16. feel not good. marked too many questions. I wonder how we could do to limit the wrong answers within 50-60questions to get 90. It seems that I never can do that. By the way, it should have 15% questions excluded, does that mean we can choose wrong answers of 15% questions without hurting the score. Is that true?

In the old exam, I can get the correct rate above 85%. but in the real test, I found out those clinical testlets are so confusing. I guess I missed most of them.

If retake, how would you deal with these clinical testlets?

Hello,
Testlets can be confusing! No doubt about it, it can get tough. In the new pattern, you get about 75-80 questions based on testlets. They literally ask questions from nooks and corners of decks..but if you have studied the decks and kaplan notes and concepts from wikipedia thoroughly, you will be able to think logically about the questions and solve them...

International dentists need to go 3rd and 4th year of dental school again and those schools want score over 85ish for admissions.

So how do you guys know you're each international dentists? I don't see anything in the thread title that distinguishes this as a thread for international dentists...

Am I missing something?
