Doing well on the AP chem exam got me out of my first quarter of gen chem. I completed the other two quarters/labs and the year of orgo/labs at my 4 year and did well-my chemistry gpa is about a 3.9. Since I'm waived out of the requirement at my university I can't retake the class there and am forced to take it at a community college. Will this be looked down upon? I guess I don't see the point in taking a class that is easier than the harder ones I have already taken....anyone else have this problem?

I still had to retake it at a different university (without the help of financial aid to make things even worse) because it was a prereq and all the schools wont take AP credit. Some schools wont take community college credit for prereq either. You shouldve rejected the AP credit before enrolling.

I disagree. Talk to the dental schools before taking advise from me or anybody else on predents, but I doubt they would make you retake that. I was accepted to dental school having tested out of the first semester. I also never took the second semester of intro bio. All of the schools I asked said that, so long as my DAT score was strong, it wasn't a big deal. You clearly have demonstrated in your other classes that you get chemistry. Just do well on the DAT, which you probably will, and it shouldn't be an issue. But like i said, ask the individuals schools. When I asked, they told me outright that missing a prereq wouldn't be a problem.
