Hey everyone this is my first post and I would love your opinions. 😀

I will be entering my junior year of undergrad in the fall. My very first semester I kind of over did it with the courses taking Bio I, Chem I and Calc I together. I got As in the first two but I ended up with a C in calculus. The course was 5 credits. I got all As otherwise, but it dropped me to a 3.41.
I've slowly been recovery my cum and sci gpas since then but I can't get over this C blemishing my transcript. Should I retake it?

If you're planning on applying DO, then yes; otherwise, no. Take statistics if you haven't though!

Hmm, well MD is my priority at the moment. Why stats if you don't mind me asking? As of right now I have calc 1 and 2 under my belt with a C and A respectively. I honestly have enough room to add a math minor if I wanted but I'm just wondering, do MD schools prefer stats as an upper level math course?

Oh! Also, for anyone else willing to give their opinion on this. Last semester which was spring of my sophomore year. I withdrew from O chem 2 and its lab. Does that look really bad to admissions boards?
The thing is I was going through some personal issues and I honestly couldn't take the load. I have an A in O chem 1 from the previous semester though. Also, even though I was going through a few things, I was able to get a 4.0 while taking physics 2, genetics and microbiology. I'm really hoping it won't look bad, but what do you think?

One drop won't hurt you. Also, you just finished sophomore year you need to chill out! I'm not sure I'd retake it just because you got an A in Calc 2. If i was you I'd just let it go. I have a C+ in general chem II but I've just let it go and I'm moving on with my academic career because everyone is bound to get a crap grade here or there it happens. Don't let SDN fool you into thinking that you have to get solid A's in every single class you take

Unless you suddenly start bombing classes left and right, I wouldn't even think twice about a single C in Calc. Or any class, for that matter.

🙂 Thanks so much for your thoughts. Looks like I'll be taking statistics.
