Hello Everyone,

I am currently taking 2 prereq courses over again that I got C's during my Freshman and Sophmore year. In one class I am certain I will get an A, but the other course is Physics I, and the first test already did not go so well. I am worried I may not be able to get an A, but I am fairly certain I can make a B+. The only problem is the school I am taking the course at is not on a +/- system, so any grade of 80-89 is a B. Would having a B in a retaken course that I received an C+ in be worth it?

My other option is to drop the course and recieve a W on my transcript. Would a withdrawn retaken course look bad in the eyes of an admission board?

I appreciate any advice or encouragement!

What are you chances for an A? I would speak to the professor and see where you're at if you haven't done so. Kahn Academy or other youtube videos could help you out with physics. C+ to a B is better than a W, for sure.

I spoke to him and he seemed understanding. The the first test didn't go well though..Good thing is he drops the lowest test grade.

My only issue is the tests only get harder from here and now I have to do very well on the next 4 tests to get an A. I have been studying a lot hoping I can stick it out and make the A, I just don't want to jeopardize my application in the process.

Well, just continue to work your tail off and try to get an A. If it doesn't happen, a B is definitely an improvement from a C, considering the subject matter. I don't think you'd be jeopardizing your application. If you have very competitive grades in other pre-reqs, a competitive GRE, great letters of rec and observation hours, I think having a B in physics won't kill you....
