Greetings:

I have a 3.2 UG that is split between 2 years of CC and 2 years at a 4-year institution. Since I have graduated from the 4-year institution, it would cost me 6-7k to retake 2 courses which I have previously failed (Politics 101 and Intro to Marketing 201.) My GPA would jump to slightly over 3.5 for the purpose of DO schools if I retook them and earned an [A]. My questions are, (1) can I take Politics 101 and Marketing 201 at a different, and more affordable, institution and, (2) will it matter if the name of the course differs even though the number is the same? (i.e POL101: Principals of Politics in America vs. PLT101: Introduction to Politics.)

p.s If I take it at the 4-year institution, it would create a seperate "post undergrad" GPA because I graduated many years ago. That deters me further.

Thanks in advance for any help. 🙂

AACOMAS just finished my GPA calcs, and they counted a repeat of 1st quarter gen chem that was at a different school, with a different title and number, than my first go-round.

So, yes, you can repeat at a different school. But you might want to check your math. You're not going to get from a 3.2 to a 3.5 with two classes.

It's possible if you have under 100 credits...my GPA jumped nearly 0.1 when i take out a failed class and I figured that with my complete UG record with 130 credits (not all completed yet of course, I just predicted my grades in future classes).

You wouldn't have under 100 credits if you've graduated from a 4-year university. I don't see how your GPA could jump up that much by retaking 2 courses.

Thank for the info. I can see that w/ Gen Chem... hope it works the same for a ramdom MKT201 and POL101. You're correct, that figure was only for the courses taken at the 4-year school and not the overall.
