I placed out and received credit for general chemistry 2 years ago. I'm now a junior, and realize some schools that I want to apply to won't accept that credit.

If taking it again for these schools, will other schools that do accept AP credit wonder why I'm taking it again after having taken 3 other chemistry classes?

I would double check with the specific schools to make sure you would need to retake this. In your case, since you have upper level chemistry coursework they might not require you to retake Gen Chem but I am not sure. Either way check with those specific schools and if it comes down to only 1 or 2 schools that require it you might find it easier to just not apply to those schools.

Also to answer your question if you do decide to retake it I don't think it will look weird, at the most you might get asked about it and you can just state that school x, y and z wouldn't accept my AP credit and required me to retake it.
