I was wondering if its worth retaking Orgo Lab after preforming poorly in it over the summer? I got Cs in both orgo lab in the Honors chem series at my school. I can retake orgo lab at the regular level this summer. But I was wondering if its something schools will even take into consideration.

Obviously because of this, my GPA isn't the most competitive, which makes me tempted to do everything little thing I can to be a more competetive applicant. At the same time I will be researching this summer and will obviously have to spend less time in the lab (and having overall fun) if I choose to retake the labs.

Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks! 🙂

I have never read anything on SDN that suggested you need to retake a C in a prerequisite lab course.

not sure how your school is run, but Orgo lab is a b****...i dont think i would EVER want take it over again, especially if i made a C

ummm.. yes, organic labs the worst (although the most productive)

no need to retake them, retaking them would not change your gpa by much since 2 credits are not that big of a deal when looking at the big picture..

I figured retaking it would not help me gpa 🙁

Our school offers two chem series: "honors" and "regular." Both labs are equally as bitchy. Since I took the "honors" and got Cs, I thought taking the regular orgo labs (and most likely getting As), would at least be looked on favorably.

Maybe not? I'd love to not have to go through that again.

thx!
