i plan to retake part 1, and hopefully score higher than my eightythree. the question is... what happens to those who score less? can you apply with the old score? or is the most recent score only valid? any insite? thanks

The Ada only reports the latest scores what ever they are.They are not concerned whether you score more or less then the last score 😎 !!Only the recent score is valid and that is what they will send to the universities.Good luck.

So if you score less than your original score, that's what they'll send to schools.

hi chompers, i too scored 83 in july 04 part 1. u think retaking the exam is the best bet? did u apply to ny coll? when had u taken part 1?
i havent written toefl nd gpa is still to b done.. pls advise, thanks in advance...mita.

i gave it my best, but i feel i can do better. my gpa is low, and with a low step one, its risky. but its just as risky to take it again, and then get a lower grade! i took the cbt in july, and everyone just seemed to have done great. should i? will i? round 2?

i think there is lot of competetion now a days. peple with even above 90 are feeling tensed about thier admission status.
if i am in your place i will go for round 2. u will at any cost score more. but apply to nyc as a back up and wait n watch. if u get admission thats fine. else u havent wasted ur time as u will be using it to prepare for the exam.
i wish u all the best.
my scores by the way are 88 and 82 ,277, and 3.21......i am not that well placed than many students over here. i am keeping my fingures crossed having applied to colleges on everycoast.

i would suggest that u take the part1 again.it may be a risk....but u wont know whether u could get a better score until you give it a shot.With your score it would be difficult to get into a Univ.just relax n study. dont get worked up about it. Tell yourself that u will definitetly do well and GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!! 👍
