I've been out of school a couple years being in a different career field and then going back to medicine choosing PT. I'm currently retaking classes to boost my prereq gpa and I'm trying to figure out the best way to approach it. Pretty much I didn't study well in my early years and was focused on other things than school.

I went to a quarter school/grade point system
2.8 is considered B-
2.2 is C-

At Uni
Chem 1 - 3.3
Chem 2 - 2.8 - planning on retaking
Chem 3 - 2.8 - planning on retaking
Bio 1 - 2.4 - planning on retaking
Bio 2 - 2.2 - planning on retaking
Bio 3 - 3.0
Physics 1 - 4.0
Physics 2 - 3.0
Physics 3 - 2.9

Currently Taking at CC
AP 1 - 4.0
AP 2 - 4.0
Stats - 4.0
Abnormal Psych - future
Microbiology - future
Exercise Physiology - future

Since I did relatively okay on my Bio 3 (physiology) and Chem 1. I was planning on retaking my Chem 2/3 and Bio 1/2 at CC. My question is this, when I retake the courses at CC, do I take the course that best resembles the class description that I did bad in or do I take the course in the series order based on the CC system. I'm pretty much expecting to 3.9/4.0 all my classes before applying this next upcoming cycle while I'm working full time as PTA.

Ex. Bio 1 was evolution at university but Bio 1 at CC is cell theory which was my BIO 2 at uni.

See how it can get confusing? Or will I have to retake the entire series because they are at different institutions?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I was in a similar situation. I graduated from a university with low science grades and retook a lot of them at community college. The answer to your question is no you shouldn’t have to retake the entire series because they are at a different institution. It doesn’t matter where you take your classes. When you submit your application through PTCAS they will need all the schools you attended. If you need chemistry it may be called something different at community college. For example, at Temple, where I graduated for my bachelors, the chemistry I took was called general chemistry. At community college it was called Chemistry A. It all depends on the course description and it also depends on the school you’re applying to. Some schools want organic chem integrated within your chemistry class etc. like I said it depends but this is just general.
