Hey guys! I need your advice. I just took the DAT on Aug. 27th 2010. And here are my results:

-AA- 19
-PAT- 19
-Total Science- 20
-Biology- 20
-Gen. Chemistry- 21
-Organic chemistry- 18
-Reading Comp. – 18
-QR- 17

I have a Cumulative GPA of 3.3 from The College of William and Mary. I have applied to VCU, Temple, Maryland, Tufts, Boston, Tennessee, Louisville, Case, and Univ. New Jersey.

I am not happy with the Pat, because on the Crack the DAT PAT, I was scoring around 22. I was wondering if it would make sense to re-take it. This would be my third time taking it. But I would be taking it in December. I wanted some feedback if re-taking would even be helpful?

Thanks guys!

scores are good don't see why you would retake. Whats wrong with a 19 PAT? Some of the PAT is based on luck like the angle rankings so sometimes you get them right sometimes you get them wrong. Just because you were scoring 22 on a practice test doesn't mean you can do it on the real thing so retaking just for this is not a good idea.

def do not retake.

You will def get interviews- just interview well your scores are very solid. A 19 PAT is fine. It's not even close to the cutoff for most school. I know some cali schools like high pat (i think its UoP- not sure cause im from NY), but to where you applied, you are in good shape.

I wouldn't retake unless you don't get in this cycle... plus if you look at some schools they won't take any DAT scores later than sometime in OCT. so definitely do not retake until maybe next spring... I had similar scores 19aa 19ts 24pat and with almost the same gpa I am applying this cycle to see if I can get in. If i don't then I will definitely retake, but lets hope we both get in with our stats... good luck..

Guys if you didn't score 28AA and 28TS with a 30 PAT you will not find happiness in life. You will not be able to be a dentist and you should just live with the fact that you are wasting everyone's time by being alive.

:barf:

Keep you head up. Those are good scores.

Thanks guys!

I was just worried because I applied last year and I got a 16 on the PAT and didn't get a single interview. But hopefully this year will be better.

You are all prob. right about too much SDN--being on it too much can make you doubt everything. Therefore I stopped coming on here so much, the post-DAT life is pretty sweet.

Thanks again for the advice and best of luck to all of you applying this cycle! kevinrho---good luck!

Hopefully we all get in 😀

Hey man ur scores aren't too bad ..........if u wanna retake then i would say get ur hands on all the kaplan stuff ap cliffs bio and math n science destroyer and hammer through these as much as u can and work on ur pat still don't get confident in that just use ur resources wisely and spend more time and apply i think u still have a good score to fall back on and im sure u'll do better if u retake good luck!

Last summer my scores were:

AA-19
TS-19
Orgo-20
G.chem- 19
Bio-17
PAT--16----I feel like this was a red flag for most schools.
Reading comp-20
QR-18

But I'm hoping a 19 on the PAT will get me a few interviews. Have you taken the DATs yet?

They probably also saw the Bio-17 as a red flag but you scored much better (~90 percentile) so congrats!
