I currently have a 3.65 overall g.p.a and a 25 mcat score. Do you feel it is neccessary to retake my mcat in order to get accepted to D.O school. (Yes my LOR and EC's are average/strong)

I'm also worried that if i do retake my mcat i will do worse than I did the first time. How do schools take this into consideration? Do they take the highest scores or the most recent scores?

If I take the April mcat and receive my new scores back in Mid June, would i be apply to submit my application (on June 1st) based on my old mcat scores without schools knowing of the most recent test I took?

Thanks for the help.

With that MCAT score and g.p.a, there is absolutely no reason why u should retake the MCAT, your scores are fine for every school except for TCOM and COMP (if u want to go to these places), you should make it to all of the medical schools (except maybe those 2) with your scores.

I agree. I have the exact same stats as you and was given an interview at every DOschool I applied to and some MDs. I was accepted in september by my top choice DO school and withdrew from the rest of the DO schools. The secret is to apply early and write some great essays and get your secondaries in as soon as possible.

I don't think re-taking is necessary, but there is a room for improvement.

Don't retake it. I had lower overall gpa and same MCAT and had no problem getting into multiple schools.

I don't think retaking is an absolute MUST, but keep in mind that the majority of folkst that DO retake score better than the first time.
