Retirement Benefits for Post Docs/Residents

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My alma mater...

I don't know if this applies to medical residents though, as the hospital system and the university system branch very very high up the bureaucratic tree. This actually causes problems for my old PI when she needs to sign out cases from her office, which happens to be in a university building not a hospital building (firewall issues).

I'm guessing these types of policies are highly variable between institutions.

edit: Almost forgot, note the vesting period... golden handcuffs, as they say.

Do any of you know whether post docs and/or residents get retirement benefits? I'm guessing their institutions don't let them have 401ks like they'd get if they were PIs, but I'd love it if one of you could prove me wrong!
