Hi,

I submitted my app in end of July with a DAT score that wasn't too great. However, I just recently took the DAT and did well and I was wondering what I should do next? I indicated on AADSAS that I would be taking the DAT in August. Do I need to let schools know I retook my DAT and let them know the new scores or will they automatically see the new score?

Thanks. 🙂

They should see your new score on AADSAS in about 3 weeks. If a school that you applied is giving out interviews, You should call and let them know that you retook your DAT before they send you a rejection letter. Good luck !

I was in the exact same situation last cycle, what I did was attach a copy of my unofficial score report in a courtesy email letting the school know I had recently retaken the DAT, asking for them to hold off on making a final decision until they got my official schools. Almost all of the schools replied to that email thanking me for informing them, several schools even said it was my responsibility to tell them directly that I was retaking (meaning they didn't care that I indicated I was retaking on AADSAS). I even got two interviews before my official scores were posted. It may have been overkill to approach the situation this way but I would do it again.
