Return or One Way

Is it better to buy a return ticket, or a one way ticket to Ireland? If you are buying a return ticket, when should the return date be?
Also I remember seeing someone had posted a few websites, where you could find cheap airfare, but I can't see to find it, if anyone can post any websites here I would appreciate that.

I guess it depends on any certainty you might have about a first possible return date. I wasn't sure so I just booked a OW on points. Keep in mind that without a return ticket, immigration will scruitinize your acceptance letter et al all the more since you are then clearly "moving" to Ireland.

I got a return ticket with the ability to change that date. Currently im set to return home over christmas but can use that ticket for up to 12months after of i dont take that trip. Hence if i dont come home for chrissy i will just use it at the end of year.
