reusing information from personal statement on a secondary

i want to reuse part of a story i used in my amcas personal statement in a secondary app essay.

i'd prefer to avoid doing this, but the question asks what satisfaction i expect to receive from being a physician (columbia btw), and a story in my personal statement really gets to the bottom of this for me.

also, it would only be for one point of the secondary essay, with other ideas being original.

what do you guys think?

In my humble opinion, go for it -

If you're using the story from the primary as only a part of your secondary (and not actually resending a slightly modified primary), and you feel it will really illustrate your point..

I'd think that it's probably not a good idea to use the same sentences. Maybe you can use the same topic and just rewrite that paragraph in new words.

Keep in mind that some admissions committee members will read your PS and your secondary essay in the same sitting. Don't waste their time with a deja vu moment half way through that secondary essay.
