When you rotated in Anesthesia, did you use any review books or any texts? At my school, Anesthesia does not have any per-requisites, but do you think having done medicine and surgery would help in performing better in Anesthesia? Thanks a lot!

My med school loaned us a copy of "Baby Miller" = Miller's Basics of Anesthesia. I think this is a great intro text, and a new edition just came out. Don't buy it just for the med school rotation though. TRy to borrow it from someone. The background in IM and surgery would help, but is not necessary. Just show up early, learn to stay out of the way (we have limited real estate in the OR), do your reading, ask a few questons (but not 100s).
