Review Texts for Pediatric Electives

As the 4th years embark on many, many Pediatric electives. What is the general thoughts of good review texts for these electives.?

I am personally doing a Peds EM month and NICU month.

A Harriet Lane is nice to have during peds EM or any floor peds months. If you are going into pediatrics, wait to buy your own copy however because usually a formula rep will give you your own free as a first year peds resident. See if you can borrow one in the mean time.

For my Peds EM rotation, there were a bunch of books that were available in the Peds ER. Some included Dermatology texts (great for the rashes and there was a great book that helped to describe the derm seen in other ethnicities), general physical diagnosis books etc... sorry, I can't remember the exact names.

Keep the Harriet Lane nearby but ask the faculty, residents and staff about other texts that they have around. You can then go and check these out of the library (the costs for some of the books were really high) or during some down times (or prior to the start of your shift etc...), you can stop by to read a bit.

How about books for Heme/Onc? Someone on another thread recommended Children's Hospital of Oakland Heme/Onc Handbook or Peds Heme/Onc Secrets, but has anyone used something else they like?
