Hi All,

Took MCAT this time last year so its been a while and I forgot lots of the basic sciences. I feel this may be the case for many others. Is it essential to begin med school re-familiarizing the MCAT sciences or do med schools understand and slowly bring us new med students back into the hang of things?

From what I've read in multiple threads, the overwhelming consensus is to spend your summer away from academics and relax/prepare yourself emotionally. It's what I'm doing before I start anyways!

There is no real easing in. Med school will start off at a Sprint and you have to keep up. That being said, there's no need to prestudy as you don't and won't know what depth they'll be teaching you anyway. Furthermore, whatever you did prestudy will likely be covered within the first days or week of class.

If you feel the need to brush up on something you should but don't feel compelled to waste your time "prestudying" as it's not useful. Enjoy your life, recharge and be ready for the marathon Sprint of medical school.
