So if you get off the waitlist after the May 2nd deadline to commit to a program, do schools generally arrange any dates for you to go visit, so that you can make an informed decision? And how much time do you have after they accept you to decide?

As far as I know, schools usually do just one second look. Maybe schools that do individual return visits rather than one big second look might do it differently.

The two schools that accepted me off their waitlist offered me a second vist which sounds pretty standard from what I've heard. You'll likely be the only one though and they will probably just arrange for you to meet with faculty you're interested in as well as lunch and/or dinner with the director and a couple of students.

Good to know! I stand corrected.
