Does RFU still offer the unofficial acceptance to the medical school as long as you get a 3.0 in the AP program or has that ended?? Does it also apply for international students?

No from what I understand the program is finished... they changed it completely. There is a thread somewhere if you search for RFU.

probably not, unless they 3.0 or some other guarantee is very silently still there

Is the program looked down on by other med schools or is it just seen as a traditional masters program?

Yes, it has no connection to the medical school anymore. No more 3.0 in your in, etc.

Read more here if you are interested.

Hello,

I am currently an AP student. It is true after many years, the program has been cancelled. No more 3.0 "nudge nudge wink wink" (the addmisions lady actually said this pharse) acceptance. It is quite disspointing becuase it is such an amazing program and has helped a lot of people out. So now the program is being changed to the Biomedical Sciences or something. It is now just your basic post-bac program where you will be taking some first year medical classes and will have to re-apply to schools. Basically if you do well you should have no problem getting into medical schools (just like any other program) BUT there is no guarantee anymore. 😡 🙁

So would you still think that this program is equivalent to GTown, BU, and Drexel's SMPs?

that's a subject of debate. The general consensus seems to be that GT will prep you better and has a better rep. Not sure how RFU stacks up against the others.
