Am I crazy for not being able to replicate these directions with my hand?

Someone please point out what I'm doing incorrectly

Someone please point out what I'm doing incorrectly

lay right hand our flat, facing the screen. thumb extended outward, pointing to the right.
pushing with your palm seems to be lifting your hand upward..

Those directions are strange though, I use the following RHR:

index=v, middle=B, thumb=F
