Right hand rule question

How can I determine the direction of an e-'s magnetic filed? Since it is negatively charged, would using left hand work? man i feel so dumb, i got stuck on this topic for almost an hour now. 😡

i actually think you can use the left hand, but most people agree that using the right hand and then just doing the "opposite" of whatever you get is better than using your left hand (so if the force on the proton is up, then the force on the electron is down....into the page/out of the page....left/right)

wait, I thought using my left hand would only invert the FORCE and everything else stays the same right? (assuming both proton and electron are going the SAME direction).

Yes. Just do right hand, and then for the force on a negative its simply the other way.

Magnitude and direction of B and Velocity stay the same. For the Force, magnitude is the same, just the direction is reversed.
