A friend of mine asked me if it was harmful to rinse with H202.
How bad is this???
Also, what is the mechanism of Flouride in preventing caries?

Rinsing with H2O2 isnt bad if you dilute it with water and dont let it sit in your mouth for to long. It kills Anaerobic bacteria by making the oral enviroment more oxygenated. Fluoride will replace Ca in hydroxyappetite and form Fluroappetite. Which is stronger and more resistent to acid demineralization and caries.
 
Wouldn't H202 wear away the enamel?

...Appetite? I hope you're just misspelling that because you're hungry. ;)

Correction...Fluoride will replace a OH in hydroxyappetite and form fluroappetite
 
I know I make my fair share of orthographical errurs ;) , but I just have to do this...
