meant 2015....my bad

How is it these days? And yes Im very aware of it being called Wrong Aid as well.

Already know how it is with being short handed, etc. At times I can be with a full staff and outwork them etc. So that I already get in the pharmacy world.

What I would like to know is basics:

1. If you start how many weeks vacation are you given? or how long do you have to work to take one?
2. With experience do they prorate salary? (ie I'm not a new grad)
3. How is their 401k....options, etc....company match? etc
4. Do they have a set schedule or can you work with your partner and keep days covered?
5. Do they ever double up for busy days?
6. How great is the insurance
7. How long are the shifts? ( and I know lunch is out of the question/laughable)
8. How is their computer system? easy to pick up?
9. If one is a floater, do they pay for travel time?
10. Metrics? And how hard do they come down on you for them?

and anything else just add......got contacted and would like a feel on it.

1. If you start how many weeks vacation are you given? or how long do you have to work to take one?
2 weeks to start. 3 weeks once you hit 5 years with the company. 4 weeks once you hit 10 years

2. With experience do they prorate salary? (ie I'm not a new grad)
Not sure, I started as a tech, then was an intern, then hired as a pharmacist.

3. How is their 401k....options, etc....company match? etc
It's not terrible. They match 100% of the first 3% you contribute then 50% of the next 2%. No stock options, but you can buy Rite Aid stock through payroll deductions and Rite Aid covers the brokerage fees.

4. Do they have a set schedule or can you work with your partner and keep days covered?
Most stores have a set rotating schedule however you are free to swap with your partners whenever you please.

5. Do they ever double up for busy days?
If the store is busy, you will have a pharmacist overlap. In my district, once you hit around 1800 scripts per week, you'll get some extra pharmacist help.

6. How great is the insurance
Not sure, I dont have it. But ive never heard any complaints from the pharmacists that do have it.

7. How long are the shifts? ( and I know lunch is out of the question/laughable)
In most stores, if youre the primary rph, the shift is 8am-9pm. If you're the overlap rph, your shift is probably 11-5. Hours can vary slightly. Some stores dont open till 9am or are only open until 8pm. True, there is no official lunch, but Rite Aid says if you want to sit down in the consultation room for 30min that's fine. You just have to be present in the pharmacy and accept the fact that you'll probably be interrupted with MD calls or people waiting in the store that needs Rx's checked.

8. How is their computer system? easy to pick up?
Ive always worked for rite aid but have done rotations and used the computers of most of the major chains out there. And in all honesty, Rite Aids computers are pretty damn awesome. Very easy to use. They also use biometrics for everything. So no constantly typing in passwords. Just use your fingerprint.

9. If one is a floater, do they pay for travel time?
Only if it's far from your home. I've only floated briefly, but I think it has to be >25 miles one way. Im not sure what the exact policy nowadays is.

10. Metrics? And how hard do they come down on you for them?

Not too bad. Nothing ridiculous like how many rings before you pick up the phone. I suppose this is all dependent on who your district manager is but as long as something isn't really out of whack, you won't be bothered. Rite Aid is very high on clinical services. Immunizations, MTM, etc... so i hear more talk about that than the usual metrics

2. With experience do they prorate salary? (ie I'm not a new grad)
In my experience, yes. After graduation, I worked for a competitor for about 8 months before coming to RA. When I got hired, I believe I was making more than my friend who got hired straight out of school.

3. How is their 401k....options, etc....company match? etc
Investment options aren't many, but have some decent options, including some target date funds and some low-cost index funds (Vanguard, which I prefer).

4. Do they have a set schedule or can you work with your partner and keep days covered?
Our district works 2 on 2 off and every other weekend. i.e. Week 1 M, T, F, Sat, Sun, Week 2 W,Th. Long 12 hr shifts, but you are off 7 out of every 14 days. Not too bad. Yes, you can trade with your partner or others, but it may not always be approved. Our district is short staffed right now and trades are often denied.

5. Do they ever double up for busy days?

6. How great is the insurance
Insurance is through United Health Care. Only 2 plan options for the upcoming year. Deductibles are fairly high for both plans, but there is a health fund component, meaning RA pays for the first portion of your deductible.

7. How long are the shifts? ( and I know lunch is out of the question/laughable)
Our district includes primarily 12 hr stores. M-F 9-9, Sat 9-6, Sun 10-6. No overlap except the busiest stores, as Porsche said.

ummmm at least in cali... no vaca the first year, 1 week vaca the 2nd year

match max $1000 if you contribute max allowed at 401k,

schedules are done by scheduler, but pharmacy manager have alot of say in that

hours wise, depends on how long your store stays open, but avg 80 hours per pay period if you are full time
