I got an offer from them after graduation....I was wondering if I should take it since I have worked with them before and know the system, etc...

OR, look at Walgreens or CVS.

Anyone, work for both and can compare companies?

I have no working knowledge of the other two and dont want to sign yet before I know more......appreciate it!!

I work at Walgreens now, and worked at Rite Aid for my P1 rotation. The only things better at Rite Aid were the newer register (touch screen, which Walgreens is getting this coming Spring), and the ability to bill two insurances directly (ie, Coupon Cards). You couldn't pay me enough to switch over from Wags to Rite Aid. I got so sick of price matching that month, the fingerprint system. Also Rite Aid's computer system is more Windows based (clickable) while Walgreens is more based on using the keyboard than the mouse.

Will Rite Aid work around your hours once you start Med School?

yes! I know the whole East Coast team and alot of upper executives and they will give me as little or as much as I want.

I was shocked at how willing they were to help. Seems too good; hence why I am questioning it!!

From what I know, it's pretty flexible to work at Rite Aid. One of my pharmacists just switched to one day a week so she could give hospital a try while studying for med school. As an intern, I got 8 weeks off this summer. Just be prepared to float and not stay in one place, sometimes doing 14hr shifts.

they promised a store across from my med school since they have an opening for a part-time pharmacist....

I am rotating there now and getting it down. They are not that bad except there is not much tech help.

ehhh, rite aid, wags, its all the same...retail is the same everywhere....you'll learn the computer system anywhere
