Look in Proofreading and Repair by RNA Polymerases, paragraph 6. The whole article is a discussion on RNA repair and a brief history of why it would be more beneficial to repair.
Joonkim, I think you are referring to DNA polymerase proofreading, because I believe you are correct for DNA.
