So interview season this year leaves me with 2 flights and a whole lotta driving. Anyone have ideas on healthy stuff to bring in the car/motel room so I'm not eating fast food daily?
Continental breakfasts as much as possible...
Apples b/c tis the season and they pack well...
Lots of water...
A styrofoam cooler with maybe some yogurt and sandwhich supplies...
Trader Joe's Microwave dishes...

any other ideas?

Protein bars like some of the Odwalla stuff-full nutrition in themselves even if you don't eat a proper meal anywhere. I also carry carrots with me-I love them, and they travel well.

I usually take apples, carrots and protein bars with me whenever I go anywhere, whether for a conference or a long trip, for work or pleasure. It ensures I am neither starving, nor paying exorbitant markups either at airports or at conference venues, and I don't have to worry about finding an affordable meal as soon as I land in a new place.

I almost always stay in hotels where there is "free" breakfast. Though I am not a breakfast person, I take yogurt, milk, bananas and muffins from the hotel breakfast as my daytime snack/lunch, or if I get fed by someone during the day, I use the above "breakfast" fare as my dinner or for late night munchies.

Man, I am cheap!

Another thing-pack some tylenol, motrin, aleve, whatever works for you, just in case. Hotel drug mark-ups are ridiculous!

Slim Fast. They taste pretty good and mostly fill you up. I personally really like to munch while I drive and those preferences lean towards things like Chex Mix and my new fave Goldfish. Mmm. Ok, not exactly healthy. But whatever it tastes great.

A non-food tip for driving - rent a book on tape. They are great for filling the lonely hours of the drive. I just got back from a 2388 mile interview round trip (I'm a little nutty with road trips) and Stephen King's "Under the Dome" kept me highly entertained and awake for the drive.
