During medical school, I have taken a couple medical mission trips to developing countries which were about 50% service and 50% tourism. They both involved treating patients, delivering supplies, rotating in hospitals/clinics, etc. I am hesitant to include these trips on my CV and ERAS because of perceptions that they are "voluntourism". Any thoughts as to whether to include these experiences or how to categorize them on CV/ERAS?
Thanks a lot.
