I'm a third year who's interested in going into internal medicine. I did very well on my Step 1 (250+). So far, I have no honors in my clerkships or any research publications. I'm interested in one of the top academic programs in NY, Boston, etc.

My school only gives honors to the top 25%, and so far, I don't have any honors, and I might possibly end 3rd year w/o any honors because the whole grading process is very political and arbitrary. I work hard, but it seems like everyone else does too...

Will I still be able to match at a top IM program despite my 3rd year grades?

What about my lack of research pubs?

I guess I'm interested in hearing the "stats" of those who matched into a top IM program.

My recommendation is to RELAX. It is still very early in your third year! I was in the same position last year by not honoring my first two rotations. I subsequently went on to honor all of my remaining. I'm sure you will do fine. Good luck!
