I'm doing the question book now, and so far the chapters I have completed (11,12,13) have been pretty good. Earlier today I started Chapter 14, and it sucks. A lot of the questions seem to be asking details about rare disorders, like markers for T-cell lymphomas and what not. Looking through First Aid I could not find ANY T-cell neoplasm disorders.

Does anyone who has completed the book have any reccommendations as to chapters that are more boards relevant?

I'll agree that Ch 14, about WBC, lymph nodes, spleen and thymus made me want to cry. I thought they were super hard, and the chapters before were very doable. I basically just assumed that I was bad at the subjects covered in Ch 14.

you can get questions on ANY TOPIC in your step 1 exam. once again, I have to point out that nobody should limit their breadth of knowledge to what is covered in FA. Most step 1 heavyhitters went over and beyond what the FA authors deemed "worthy of mentioning" - and Robbins is one books that a lot of them used to augment their knowledge base.

Check out the Heme-Onc section of First Aid. At least the 2006 ed has stuff on CMLs, CLLs, AMLs, ALLs, Hodgkin's lymphomas, and non-Hodgkins lymphomas. The 2006 ed also included specific cytogenetic markers, antigen markers, staining, etc.
