Are these questions too hard to answer if you do not own/let alone read Big Robbins? I do own BRS Path and recently got Goljan audio, though I have not listened to it yet. I did poorly in path this past semester, after having stellar grades my first year. Because of this I am paranoid about Path for the boards. At what point should I try to answer these questions? (I am reviewing 1 chapter of BRS Path a day now while still trying to enjoy our all too short Xmas break) I know I am rambling, but basically I would like any advice on how to beef up on Path during the next few months using the above sources without taking too much away next semester's cources (Clinical Pathology and Pharmacology). Any advice would be appreciated.

Definetely buy BRS Path - not only is it a very good overview of path for the boards, it also helps you organize your studying for class. The way I study is by following BRS along with my notes and reading big robbins here and there for details and pictures.

Also, for practice questions try:
1. Robbins revew of path (EXCELLENT questions, pretty difficult, but gives you a good review of everything in the chapter and really forces you to think).
2. WebPath. Search google for "webpath utah" - the website has images, tutorials, and quizzes by organ system and in general path. Great resource.

As for pharm, my school does a poor job of teaching it (i think), and we only cover a little pharm here and there. So in addition to those lectures, what I do is to just memorize the pharm in FA as best as I can and just keep going over it. That should help you organize your pharm studying too.

Good luck!

Hey Quid, you recommend the questions on Robbins? I have big Robbins and was thinking of coughing up the dough for the question version. Seems to be worth it, so people say.

Absolutely - great questions, definetely worth it. You can probably find a used version from a seller on Amazon.com that will be cheaper.

ask the upper classmen at your school first, it's just a question book so after boards it's really not useful anymore, you should be able to get a hand me down (that's how I got mine!).
