I bought BRS Path for the Boards to do along with my classwork and then use for boards this June. Do I need this Robbins Review book as well? Is it a must-have like BRS Path and BRS Phys and FA?

Any suggestions?

I love the Robbins review. Lots of people recommend it for the boards on here - some say the ?s are harder than the real thing, so its real good practice IMO...One of the best question resources I think there is.

do EVERY question in Robbins Review of Pathology.
trust me, you will thank us when you get honors in path/pathophys and crush the boards😀.

I'm not trying to sound like a smartass, but if Robbins Review is so phenomenal, why is it only the 16th or so resource in the rankings in the back of FA? I'm still in the process of sifting through and collecting resources so I'm far from an expert, but is it the questions that makes it so awesome?

all it is is questions....like an avg of 50 questions or so per robbins chapter. and ya, they seem to be well-written, challenging and have good explanations.

you're better off "sifting through and collecting resources" by reading through the "Official USMLE Step 1 booklist" at http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=187956

I first heard about Robbins Review of Pathology and USMLEWorld through this thread...so go and dig out your secret weapons.

Yeah, I've been poring over that thread almost daily. What're the thoughts on Robbins Review vs. Goljan's Rapid Review? I don't wanna completely hijack the thread and turn it into a 'what books do I need?!??!?!?!?!' thread, but I've got BRS Path already and was pretty close to buying Goljan RR because I read that it was pretty good to go over while listening to the audio.

Robbins Review is something everyone should be using. It is not a review text, it is purely questions. Ideally you should be using it during your path course, and using other questions during your pre-Step I weeks.

Goljan RR is a review book similar to BRS. Having both is not very useful.

I think Robbins Review was a good question book. It's definitely good to use during the school year. I wasn't able to get to it during board studying though so I just did a few select chapters. If you had to choose between doing more USMLEWorld/Kaplan or doing robbins review becuase of time constraints, choose USMLEWorld/Kaplan
