I have a questions for anyone out there who knows how Dr. Willner, the physician who allegedly purposefully innoculated himself with a needle full of the blood from an HIV positive patient, passed away?

He's was a member of that group of physicians and scientists who deny that there is any convincing evidence establishing the link between HIV retrovirus and AIDS.

I've been looking around the web trying to find out whether or not he ever did test HIV positive, or died from AIDs related complications. Nothing on the web that discusses what happened after that famous North Carolina Conference in 1994 where he injected himself, other than a brief bio of him on a lawyer's website that teresely mentioned his death.

Never heard of him before your post, but quite an interesting character.

Based on this URL, http://www.kurtgreenberg.com/Secure/Content/cb.asp?cbid=13,

So convinced that HIV is not the cause of AIDS, Robert made headlines in Spain as he pricked himself with a needle said to be containing the virus. He again did this in North Carolina in 1994. He said it was not an act of courage but one of intelligence. Robert died soon after but not of AIDS. Was he right?

the author states that Robert Willner, MD, PhD, died but not from AIDS. It's kind of a non-specific comment, but does not speak to his HIV-positive or negative status. Unless Dr. Willner voluntarily offered this information, it would otherwise be heavily guarded by HIPAA hawks and the like.

Also, it says he pricked himself twice (Spain and North Carolina), which is corroborated by a number of articles.

The HIV infection rate for something like a needle prick with blood is actually pretty low, i think something on the order of 5% (unless it was high titer HIV).

Chances are he never had the virus.

I met Dr. Willner on 3 separate occassions in 1994 and was literally blown away by his presence. He died of a heart attack. He had mentioned that he had been fighting with the FDA on a daily basis over these truths. You should read his books, "Deadly Deception" and "The Cancer Solution" if you would like to get some depth into his character and his knowledge and his excellent track record. He was an amazing person. He was nominated for 6 pulitzer prizes for "The Cancer Solution." When I met him, I just got a strong sense that he was the kind of soul who was doing what was right and that he knew his days were numbered, so to speak. He was all about the truth. I don't know how often I will check this site, I only joined to answer your question, when I was doing a search on him, but if you'd like
to get in touch with me, you can email me at [email protected] and please put his name in the subject. Thanks and good luck in your search for the truth.
