for those of you living off campus at rochester (ny)---

where are you getting cable and internet from?!? i called time warner, and their standard broadband cable is $40/month, and their standard tv cable is $50/month. that's nearly 100/month for this stuff!!! they don't have package deals either....

Almost everyone I know who has cable uses Time Warner because there aren't many other options. You're right--their major cable offering is expensive. I know that a lot of my friends just have the basic 8 channels or so--I'm not sure what company they use or if they just use their antennae.

I have Roadrunner Cable modem which I like a lot. They had a promotion running about two weeks ago where you got every 3rd month free, but you may have just missed it. Another option is to get DSL through Frontier (the phone company). I think it's more like $30 or so. One of my friends has that and it's working well for her.

we just bought a $9 antenna from target and get all the basic channels really well. that will save you $$$ - that's all the stuff i watch anyway.
