it's only been a year and we are terribly unhappy. i have no one to talk to about this. i don't know who i can confide in so i am pathetically turning to the internet.

don't even have the energy to get into how it got here, but i am scared of where it could go.

How bad have things been? Maybe you can leave your husband. That's easier than sticking it out.

I am so sorry things are not working out. Would it be too personal to ask for more specifics? Without concrete information, we can offer a lot of sympathy and goodwill, but little useful advice.

Are you done - as in, just need to go talk to a lawyer and get it over with? Or are you interested in counseling? Except in the case of physical abuse, I think no marriage should end without at least trying therapy.
What is your situation? Are you the doctor or spouse in your relationship? What stage of the process are you guys in (medical school, residency, attending)? How long did you date prior to getting married? Any warning signs back then that you wish you'd picked up on?

I wish you the best, and I hope we can help you. *hugs*

It would help to know details. A year into marriage, med school, or residency? Are you the spouse or the student/resident?
