Hey guys,

I am just posting to tell you about a Canadian DAT prep course called Rock the DAT. Now in its seventh year of operation, it is run by Dental students at the University of Alberta and offers DAT prep sessions all across Canada. OUr Fall 2007 sessions are:

Sept 22, 23 - Edmonton, Calgary

Oct 13, 14 - Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Saskatoon, Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, London, Halifax

Sessions are reasonably priced and include comprehensive instruction on all DAT sections, and a full length practice DAT.

To register for these sessions, or to purchase DAT prep materials through our online store, visit us at http://www.rockthedat.com.

Thanks!

I am considering taking this course to help with the carving and PAT sections especially. Has anyone taken it? How is it?

Are you one of their employees?

Who said in one of their posts that "I should start advertising my yard sale here!!"? Does any one remember?

Hi Ocean5,

I am one of the members of the U of A's dentistry class of 2010, which is putting on this course. Every single person in the class is participating in some way in running this program, and the money goes into covering our overhead costs for the program and also into our class graduation fund. Nobody is making any money personally off this course; we are all volunteers on behalf of our class, not employees.

Yes, I do realize that we are "selling something" in a sense, but I believe that this discussion board is about the DAT, and this course directly relates to DAT prep. I thought that by posting it on here, people who are looking for DAT help could find a new resource they may not have heard of before. Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. 🙂

Hey guys,
Just wanted to say best wishes to everyone who attended our fall session held this past weekend. We hope that you found our course worthwhile, and we want to wish you good luck on the DAT. 🙂

We also want to let everyone know that we are offering the course again in all of the same cities as above, on January 12 and 13, for those preparing for the February DAT. Due to popular demand we are looking into providing CDA soaps for practice (instead of our supplier) in addition to at the Mock DAT.

Thanks and if you have any questions about the course, check out www.rockthedat.com or e-mail [email protected].

Ok...we get the idea...this is the second time. Take your Ad to the classified section.

On a side note...I really get a kick out of how arrogant canadian dental schools are. What..with none of them accepting the american DAT. Yes...carving is so much more important than ochem. If there was any justice in this world, american dental schools would not accept the canadian DAT.

Maybe it's just a big brother gesture on our part....but the complex lives on...

That's because Organic is part of the Canadian dental curriculum and doesn't need to be pre-tested. It's not arrogance, but we've got enough dentists going into the States to work already. The last thing we need is to have a whole bunch of Americans who apply to Canadian dental schools, you know, just because, and then going back home to work. At least Americans who take the Canadian DAT are showing true interest and motivation, and potentially, an interest in building their future in Canada, because Canadian d-schools are hard as heck to get into. No need to be so bitter. 🙄

bump.

i emailed these guys and they said they had 300 students in 2007, so im wondering if anyone here has taken this course before and what u thought of it. my buddy took it, but hes a goof and just told me that the teachers are cute...
