Does the VMCAS operate on rolling admissions like med schools do? To clarify, is there any benefit to turning in the application considerably early to get an earlier look by the schools?

Not really. There are a COUPLE schools that will look at you earlier but pretty much all the schools in the states wait until after the deadline to look at you. I think the Caribbean schools and I think like midwestern will look at you earlier, but generally it’s after the deadline that schools start looking.

I believe the island schools might do this, or did at one point? US schools do not really do rolling admissions. Generally, all interview/acceptance letters and emails are sent out in bulk/batches too. You could submit the first day VMCAS opens and hear news the same day as someone who submitted much later.

The benefit to getting your application in early:

You won't panic when there are last minute submission problems due to bugs with VMCAS or the GRE website.
Also, you won't have to worry about submitting your application during school if you're still in undergrad. I submitted the day before I started Fall semester, as it was my goal to have everything submitted before I started classes. Not having to worry about the application was so so so nice during this time. It really decreased my stress level.
