My dentist said that the root canal I had in 1987 needs to be done over. It's in an upper incisor tooth, and she showed me in the x-ray how the filling didn't go all the way to the end, and nowadays it does.

Is it still a 2-stage procedure, and is it as debilitating as I remember it being back then? Afterwards, I just wanted to go home and crawl into bed afterwards! It really wore me out.

And she said I may be able to get it done for free at the dental school 2 hours away, which would be a good thing because I don't have dental insurance right now, although I can pay for it if need be. 🙂

I've been having numb spots around my upper gumline, and she pointed out a small sore on the upper gumline by this tooth that may turn into a (her words) draining fistula. (nice!)

I have no answer to your questions, but I had a root canal when I was 12-ish (13 years ago), and it was a long procedure then (I think it was 3+ visits or something).
