Hi guys,

I have a interview tomorrow at Rosalind Franklin. I was wondering if there is anyone else going tomorrow, and for people who did have one already how was it, the examination and group interviews etc ?

Thanks !

Im sad to see nobody replied to this message! I hope that your interview went well, and although noone seemed to have been able to help you out maybe you can help me out?? I have an interview at RFUMS tomorrow...how was it, how was the critical thinking test and interview portion, and do you have any tips? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Tosh, I PMed you some information already. So You're probably still at your interview, you'll probably be getting out in about 2-3 hours though. Tell me how your session went?

i'm a little confused...apparently the last interview date for rosalind franklin was january 15th and i wasn't invited for one...so that means i wasn't accepted? but i also have not received ANY communication from them - no confirmation that they have received my materials, no rejection letter or email, NOTHING.

what kind of organization is that??

I'm doing OT and the process is brutal. But did you try calling them or emailing them and ask them about your materials and application? If you haven't then do that immediately and confirm with them that they have received your materials. And of course if they haven't, be specific and ask them what they need in order for your application to be complete. Now if you have called and talked to them, then I would probably call someone else in the PT department, usually the chair person to let them know your issue. For me, the admissions dept. were absolutely ridiculous and I had to go and search for some OT phone numbers and talked to them and that's how I got my stuff figured out. But do this asap!

I've emailed them twice since initially submitting all of my materials and I finally got a response yesterday saying that they have all of my stuff and they're reviewing my application right now...but why say that the interview are only on 2 days if they are still reviewing? They shouldn't say when the interviews are - it's clearly confusing.

I went through the interview process and while I was there they mentioned that if they went through all the people on the wait-list (which apparently they did the previous year), then they will consider more applications and thus possibly call those applicants for individual interviews. This could go on until they fill their class and have a stable roster because of people putting down deposits and then ending up going to other schools they won't know until mid-end May for the most part if they people who say yes are actually going to go there. This is probably why they did not give you a concrete answer on the matter. Hope this helps even though it's kind of late. 🙂 and goodluck!

Anyone taken off the waitlist? If so, when did you hear?

I'm interviewing next Friday, 9/9 - anyone want to share their experience with the RFUMS interview?

I'm particularly interested in the "critical thinking examination" and how/if they posed questions to the group fostering working together to come up with an answer or something.

Can you tell me about the critical thinking exam? I am assuming you interviewed last year...

When I interviewed, it was the watson-glaser critical thinking appraisal.

Here's a reply to a PM I sent a while back to another member asking about the interview:

Expect a well-put together day including a lot of information about the program (where they try and tell you what sets them apart from other programs), introductions to the faculty (they tell you who they are and their specialty), a very laid-back and conversational interview, a tour of the facilities by students in the program, the exam (which is the watson-glaser critical thinking appraisal), then lunch.

At least that's how it went for me, but I was in the early decision group, so you may be there closer to 3pm (I was out by 1pm) and there may be more people interviewing (there were roughly 30-40 people there total in groups of 3-5 when I was there).
Good luck!

yeah i go an invite last tuesday. have to figure out what i am going to do. are you going?

Is anyone else still waiting for a reply from RF? I am a non-traditional applicant and I only applied to Midwestern University and RF. Unfortunately I was already rejected by MWU so this is my only hope.

I never got an invite...At this point I'm pretty positive that means rejection because their last interview day is this Saturday. Ughh

The thing that doesn't make sense is that their application deadline with PTCAS was like December 3rd and if it takes 5 weeks or so to process they wouldn't even have a chance to look at it before the last interview date.

yeah I sent my application to them in the middle of November and I when I called to check on my application they said they didn't receive it before the deadline date. I don't think they understand how PTCAS works.

Nothing with RF makes sense.
They also lost track of a lot of ppl that paid the deposit earlier in the cycle, so those ppl were showing as incomplete apps in their system.
I wish I hadn't even wasted the $ applying there. What a mess.

Ugh, that is frustrating. Well I'd be curious how the interview went today for anyone who has one. I'm still really hoping I have a chance even though I wasn't invited yet.

Well I'm still painfully waiting hoping they'll have a spot open up and I'll get a shot. Anybody get accepted here and thinking about declining?
