I got an email from Rosalind Franklin this afternoon "inviting me to the on campus interview portion of the application process." My PTCAS applications just got sent out today, so I found this a little odd. Also, the interview is next Saturday. I go to school in Indiana so travel is not a big deal, but I also found that weird because a week seems like an awfully short time to make travel plans if you aren't driving distance away.

I was wondering if anyone else had any similar experiences or could give me any sort of insight. Also, has anyone interviewed at RF and can give me a little idea of what to expect?

Thanks! Good luck to everyone!

I talked to a couple people and from what I was told there will be 3 parts. There will be a tour of the school, interview, and pt staff reviews your transcripts and a financial aid presentation. Then all of the applicants take a critical thinking exam. The order depends on which guide you get matched with. I am also interviewing at RFU on that date, good luck :)

Yeah I went, it was good and the group interview wasn't as awkward as I thought it was going to be. They have you in a small conference room with an alum, a third year student,a faculty member and the 2-3 other people in your group. This was my first formal interview experience ever, so I was really nervous, but I left feeling good about it.

Here are my stats:

University: Indiana University, Bloomington
Major: Health Fitness Specialist
Overall GPA: 3.51
Pre-Req GPA: 3.64
GRE: V- 154 Q -157 AW- 5

Extra-Curric: Delta Delta Delta sorority academic chairperson, alumnae relations chair, and captain of the intramural bike team ( 2 years), physical therapy club secretary

Volunteer: 240 hours neuro, 90 hours ortho, 8 inpatient

I ended up getting wait listed. Kind of bummed out because I really thought I killed the interview. It was the first round of interviews so they have plenty of people to see, and seeing as how my grades are extremely mediocre I am trying to see the wait list as a positive! Good luck to you.

Mediocre grades? I think not. Solid GRE score! How did you study for the GRE and the AW?

thank you for the reassurance. To study for the GRE I started by taking a kaplan course last spring. It was helpful but I think what was the most helpful was sitting at the bookstore and doing practice problem after practice problem. Especially with math, it gives you a really good idea about which concepts the GRE tests the most. Using different test books to practice (kaplan, princeton review, barron, etc) was helpful because you notice similar patterns in questions. As far as the AW, I got a good prompt. But if you are concise, organized and relevant you should be fine!
