Hi! I'm thinking about transfering to Ross in my fith semester. Anybody can shed some light about this, am i making a good descition? Can anybody from Ross in fifth semester help me out?

Transfer from where?

If you're transferring from another international/caribbean school, then wait for additional reviews, etc. etc. and make a decision.

If you're considering transferring from any school in mainland US, then hell to the naw.

really depends on your stats, if your competitive for US MD or DO...do whatever it takes to go to those [even if you must apply 2-3 cycles]. If not, ross, sgu or auc are viable options however it is getting harder and harder to match into residency.

To someone considering starting medical school now, I would recommend that they do a post-bac, masters program (with conditional acceptance to med school), or anything else to boost their application, then re-apply for MD as well as DO programs in the US.

I would not recommend to anyone to start at a Caribbean medical school.

Just an undergrad here, but one of my good friends is the number 1 ranked student at Ross, about to match into a residency, and he tells everyone to stay the hell away from there. His words, I know nothing*
oh really? would you mind asking him if i can have his email, I really need some info, and i really wanna leave where am at!

they have affiliation with hospitals in puerto rico, which is where i would like to be. How difficult is it to get accepted for transfer.

this thread is useless without generally telling us "where you are at". If you are at a lesser offshore program, then yes Ross or SGU could be a step up. If you are at a US school, it wouldn't be a shrewd move. Some people succeed coming from these programs, but the business model of these schools is to accept a ton of people, take their money, and then reduce the class drastically by attrition as the years go by. Kudos to those lucky few who make it through and land on their feet in a US residency, but that won't be most of the people who enroll.
