Hey guys, hope you 're doing well. I would like to ask a question about studies program and delay of graduation. Currently, i am a western europe medical school student who decided to delay his graduation in order to get as much USCE as possible. Please note that if i decided to graduate now, i would be at the top 1% of my class.I passed most of my rotations with honors. The only reason i am writing this ( i know it doesn't mean anything ) is just to declare that i never experienced any type of academic probation due to failing classes, withdrawals etc. Last year, i tried to get some electives but many of my school professors were negative towards counting elective experience as part of my mandatory final year rotations.I was so devastated. That resulted in delaying my graduation in order to get some USCE. Therefore, i was wondering : Would it look bad to PDs if i graduated couple of years later ( we are given this opportunity by our school without being put on academic probation ) ? Could this situation be 'saved' by six months USCE? Could i explain my decision to PDS or it'a huge flag ,destroying my hopes for landing some residency interviews in US?I will be spending every day in clinics working as an intern and hopefully that period won't count as gap year as i will have direct patient contact. Please write your opinion or describe any similar experience you had. Thank you in advance for your time.
